The fourth episode of Markus Kuhn’s The Gypsy Gentleman is out now, and it’s astounding. This time around, he’s with tattooers Bill Canales and Rob Benavides, looking around the beautiful city of San Diego. The guys also pop down to Tijuana in Mexico, to check out some of the sights there. The guys take a look around a lot of Mexican American folk art, and the way it’s influenced their own work in the most fantastic ways.
As always, there’s a lot in this about the whole area of the cities they’re in, and there’s a lot of history and traditional art. The guys talk about their own experiences in the areas, and in tattooing in general, before taking all of that inspiration and turning them into three really cool tattoos.
This episode is definitely one of my favourites so far, though I think I say that about every one. I highly recommend putting some popcorn in the microwave, connecting your computer to the biggest screen you can, and kicking back to watch this. You can see the video before, and find out more on the show’s website here.
