Sang Bleu: The Tattoo Instruments of Various Cultures

Popular art and culture blog Sang Bleu has a pretty cool post up today, where they’ve featured a few tattooing instruments seen all around the world. It’s a cool little post, especially considering in this country it can be easy to forget sometimes that tattooing isn’t only done with machines! There are some items that are really old now, from before the electric tattoo machine became the tool of choice for most tattooers, though there’s one from Burma that’s still being used today in there, too.

While we have a lot to thank the electric tattoo machine for, it’s pretty cool to see all of these other tools of the trade, especially if you’re the sort who prefers hand tools over machines! You can see the post by clicking here.
