Sponsored article: I can imagine that a lot of you guys reading this are already familiar with Sailor Jerry rum. The rum, inspired by the man himself, Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins, aims to be a no-nonsense, authentic drink, using old-school flash artwork on the label to celebrate Norman Collins’ heritage.
Their new video, which features Iggy and The Stooges’ ‘TV Eye’, reveals a variety of different shots of motorbikes, skateboarders, and Southern California’s desert, with Sailor Jerry’s iconic images imposed over the top of them. Of course, I will always think that Norman’s work looks best on a flash sheet, but it looks pretty great over these visuals too.
There are also images of the man himself at the end, which I think are pretty cool. There is so much Sailor Jerry memorabilia out there these days that some people struggle to even believe he was a real person, so it’s good to see him recognised as the independent spirit he was.
If you’d like to see the video, you can do so below. I’d encourage you to check it out and see Sailor Jerry’s artwork come alive in a new medium. You can also find out more about Sailor Jerry rum by going to the following:
